last night was a thursday.  let me repeat, a THURSDAY.

there was nothing special about this day.  it isn’t midterm, it isn’t finals, and it was A THURSDAY!

there were only 10 exams that the byu testing center was offering, yet when i showed up at 6:30 to take my test, the line was down the stairs, around the vending machines, out the door and all curved all the way around JSB building.  i was not in a good mood….especially since my test was closing that night and if i didn’t take it by 9, i would get an automatic zero.

so, the waiting began.  the 50 minute wait.  luckily i had some pretty fun people in line around me that were able to keep me entertained.  me and john, the guy in front of me, were interviewed for the daily universe, which was pretty cool because “now we’re famous”.  then, with the rest of the people around me, we  played music trivia, quizzed each other on the things we needed to know, kicked people out of the line who’s tests weren’t ending that day, and heckled the testing center employee who came out and tried to explain the madness to us.

i guess that the printers were out or something.  and the scantron wasn’t working.   they were having to write everything out by hand. poor testing center employees.  i bet their hands were killing by the end of the night.

anyways, once we got into the building and upstairs to the stupid maze of lines {it was like disneyland}, i realized that i could use my short and small body to my advantage.  when two really tall guys weren’t paying attention i just slipped right in front of them.  it rocked.  they didn’t even notice that i was there and it probably saved me 30 minutes of waiting.  ahh, the joys of line-cutting.

when i got to the front, i climbed up on the table to take a picture of the madness.

as you can tell, no one was very happy about it.  except maybe this guy with the red hair.  but it was because he was by a freshman girl who was flirting….believe me, i listened to it the whole time.  gag.

it’s my opinion that they should’ve shut down the whole testing center and given us an extra day to take our tests :)

luckily, to ease your mind, i was in by 8:00 to take my test and finished by 9:00.  i know you were all worried, right?

I don’t know what you’re talking about– what’s NOT to love about the testing center? I mean, one THOUSAND high-stress people on edge because they’ve procrastinated their test-taking (and studying for that matter), employees who are somewhere in between distrusting you and waiting for you to cheat while pretending they want to help you have a good test-taking experience. :) But all jokes aside, I kinda liked the testing center with all its ups and downs– what’s not to love about being have to test-take on your own time without your teacher glaring down at you?
