some fun things
thanksgiving was wonderful.
my stuffing turned out fantastic.
chase’s deep fried turkey turned out fantastic as well {i only heard, i didn’t actually try it}
we got to spend some quality time with our families.
chase got to go pheasant hunting.
i got to see my grandparents who are only in town a few times a year.
…and i got to sleep literally ALL DAY each day of the break.
what a great thanksgiving holiday!
planet earth
chase and i usually have a show that we are watching our way through. at the end of each long day it’s nice to know that we will get to cuddle and watch a 30 minute show before crashing in bed. even though there’s not much talking because we are watching something, it’s our way of reconnecting each night.
well after a few comedies {big bang theory, 30 rock, community} and more serious series {v, kings, battlestar}, we’ve decided to start watching planet earth.
what a fantastic decision.
i am in love with all of the amazing shots that the camera is able to get. and i also get teary eyed when i watch the crocodiles eat the wildabeasts at the watering hole. we’ve only watched 2 of the episodes, but i am looking forward to tonight when i can see some more beautiful scenes like these:

i finally got to decorating the tree last night.

christmas decorations
this post is mostly for my mom since i’m fairly sure none of you care to see my christmas decorations. but if you do, enjoy.
i’ve been waiting since halloween to put these suckers up and yesterday i couldn’t wait any longer.
first, we put up the fake tree. i was worried because it was in a holey box out on our deck and i was sure that spiders had found their little way into the box and nested in my tree. luckily when we took it on the lawn to shake off, there were no critter bugs to be found. however, the top branch of the tree lights are working so i have to fix those before i can hang the ornaments. {pictures of that to come when it is done}

here are just a few shots of the little decorations around the living room

and this is my favorite. i love christmas countdowns. i attempted to make one, but it just wasn’t working out so i found this and fell in love

i have a few more decorations that i am currently making. i bought some christmas tree shaped styrofoam and am planning on wrapping them in red and silver ribbon to put around my dining table centerpiece {below}. hopefully i can create something cute out of it.

oooh boy, i sure love christmas. now to wrap all the presents we’ve bought to finish it up!
…

just a bunch of copy-cats
so, i have an awesome sister and brother in law, who i’m sure feel like we copy everything that they do.
but i can’t help it. they’ve got style, right?! haha.
well, they used to live in our same condo complex and their condo was decorated so cute. i especially loved how they had some blown up pictures of them hanging above the kitchen cabinets {it’s a great way to fill the empty vaulted wall}.
well, the other day i came across an amazing deal at zazagallery.com for some 16X16 canvas prints for only $45 each. i couldn’t pass that up. that is like 70% cheaper than other offers. so i picked out a few fun pictures of chase and i and ordered them last thursday. i was amazed that i got them so quickly {last night}.
chase was so great and hung them right away, and i thought i’d share what our new kitchen wall looks like, because i am SO excited.
uh, sorry brady and nicki. i know you had canvas pictures of you up too. don’t hate me for copying.

my assignment
this year will be the first time i attend thanksgiving at the Brammers. i am really excited. from everything that i have heard, their menu is delicious.

my assignment is the thanksgiving stuffing. i have never made it before, but my mom has an incredibly yummy recipe for it. i think i am going to do a “practice” batch this weekend, just to make sure that i am capable of handling such an important part of thanksgiving dinner.
if any of you have any tips or easy recipes, let me know! and wish me luck!
poll
do we look like sisters? we’ve always been curious, so i thought i’d throw it out to the public

literally
no joke, last night i watched FOUR movies. chase had to stay on campus late getting a project finished with his group and i was too sick and tired to go to the gym until 10:30, so i decided to be brave and stay home alone.
and the only thing that could comfort me was to have movies on in the background while i was finishing up some projects.
judge all you want, but secretly, i’m kind of proud that i fit four movies into my night.

these were my friends last night, and good friends they were.
chase didn’t get home until 11:40, so i had 6 1/2 hours to myself.
four movies in 6 1/2 hours? i know, i’m a pro.
i’m just glad that chase won’t have another late night like that for a while. i need my protector home while i get over this crazy burglar complex that i have right now
you may think i’m crazy but

so far, this monday has been the best i’ve had in a long time. i hope that your week starts out as well as mine did.
