Haven’t updated in a while. Mainly because I told Chase that I wasn’t going to write anything else on here until he wrote a post, but will that ever happen?–I think not. So I figured I would swallow my words and here I am.
There has been so much that has been going on, but I will try to just narrow it down to big events. Starting with Thanksgiving. That morning we both woke up fairly early to get some much needed tasks/errands/chores done, which usually means that Chase is in the library on the computer (doing “work”) and I am somewhere in the house cleaning or organizing. Luckily with all that was going on, by the time we realized we both hadn’t eaten anything all day, it was time to leave for the party. We drove to Bountiful and met up with my side of the family at my Aunt Liz’s house. We brought Baxter because none of the cousins had ever seen him before and he was a hit. There are about 5 kids under the age of 6 and they were fighting for who gets to hold him the whole time. It was adorable. I’m sure my pup didn’t like it all that much though since his legs were getting pulled every which direction all night. But we had a yummy dinner and then enjoyed some family time afterwards, watching movies and chatting with family.
After the party, Chase & I went to Logan for the weekend. We saw “Four Christmases” which we both agreed was a dud, and just hung out around Logan. Unfortunately, my cousin Katie (though not her fault) fed Baxter TWO whole plates of turkey at our Thanksgiving Dinner and my mom reaped the consequences when he diarrhea’d all over her carpet. She was NOT happy about that, so we went to PetsMart to buy Bax some puppy diapers. He looked retarded in them, but it was still pretty fun. Saturday morning, we woke up early and drove to Paradise to go pheasant hunting. I only stayed long enough to shoot the gun once, but the rest of the boys stayed well into the afternoon. They brought back 19 ducks and cleaned them in our backyard and fried them up for dinner. It was grrooossss. You can guess that none of the women in my family stuck around for that dinner and we got some Old Grist Mill (I miss that place). But all in all it was a fun Thanksgiving weekend and what made it best was having Chase there with me.
Since then, we have been up to a bunch of different things. Last Sunday we were invited to go with some of our good friends to the Christmas Devotional in Salt Lake which was a blast. After that we walked around Temple Square to see the lights. We’ve also been to see some movies lately (but none of them were any good since I can’t even remember their names). This past Saturday we took our friends Jake & Kelsey (who just got engaged) to Salt Lake to see the nutcracker. It was so good. I love ballets, but it makes me miss dancing so much. I need to start taking some classes soon so that I can get back into it. But other than that we have just been getting ready for Christmas with hours of shopping, christmas parties, work and finishing up our finals.
This weekend we have my company christmas party at the Chef’s Table, a christmas dinner with some of Chase’s colleagues, visiting family and making those last shopping trips before the big day. I am looking forward to a first Christmas with my new family and can’t wait to see Brady, Nicki and the twins since they’ve moved to California. It should be a good time.
