ANNOUNCEMENT
I have some news!
I am reading Twilight.
I know that I have told everyone in the past that has urged me to read these books that they sounded lame and stupid and that you couldn’t pay me to read them, but I’ve given in. There is just NOTHING to do at my office and I need to fill the time. What better way than to start a four book saga? So there you go Natalie, Taylor, Paige, Tara and all of you crazy vampire fans! I am reading it…and guess what…I am loving it so far. Chase even took me to see the movie last Friday (which I can’t say that I particularly liked, there was just a bunch of no-name actors doing a mediocre movie) but still it was fun to finally join the craze and become a fan.
After viewing the movie came the best part of the night however. Chase and I snuck to his parents house and spray-painted the Ute logo on their lawn. I will have to have Chase upload the photos of it so you all can witness the genius artistic ability that we possess because it turned out pretty sweet.
Anyway, that is all I can think of right now that is going on in our lives but I will post more as more happens!
Lately
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! There is not too much to write about so this will mostly be just an update on what we’ve been up to lately.
About a week ago, Chase got accepted to the Marriott Business School at BYU which was really awesome. It felt like such an accomplishment after we had both spent one week trying to fit a whole semester worth of Statistic homework in so that he could get his final grade in time to apply for the school. We were a little worried because we didn’t have any time at all to study for exams since we had only 7 days to finish the whole course, but he did great and pulled out a grade that allowed him to get accepted! That’s my man.
Also, Chase has been up to a lot of different projects lately. I swear every day someone calls him with a business idea and wants Chase to be in on it. What can I say, the boy is a genius at computers…but that it mostly what he spends his time on. I’m just glad that sometimes he will take a break and watch a movie with me or something.
I have been working working working. Pretty much after work and school, I come home and am useless (my mother will attest to the fact that every woman in my family needs an hour nap a day to keep going) and usually relax on the couch with a book or something and usually that means within 15 minutes I am passed out on our couch. Chase will just tap my shoulder at like 11 or midnight and I will take my lazy self to bed. So I guess that it can be honestly said that I fall asleep around 9 every night. Ha!
I figured out the best news of my life the other day…I am DONE with campus classes and can take my remaining ones online. This is such great news for me because I can now do all of my homework while at work (since all I do is answer phones all day) and won’t have to worry about deadlines, or more importantly, parking. I am sooo relieved.
We are planning for Thanksgiving and are pretty excited to get a couple days of PTO. I can’t wait to go home. We are going to spend Thursday-Saturday up in Logan and probably go Pheasant hunting on Saturday with some of my family. I’ve never gone before but I think it will be pretty fun to try it and see if I am any good with a gun.
But the holidays are sneaking up on me and I need to start organizing our shopping list for gifts or I will probably forget something…
But there is so much to look forward to in the next month…hot chocolate, christmas music, making gingerbread houses, turkey and stuffing, buying and decorating our christmas tree, buying and wrapping presents for everyone to put under our tree, learning how to ski, sledding, and soooo much more. What a great season.
Hallow’s Eve
What is a married couple to do on Halloween? Well, I’ll tell you what they SHOULDN’T do! Go to the the Howl at USU.
I have gone to the Howl for a couple of years now and every time I have had the funnest time listening to the bands and seeing the hypnotist. Chase has never been but has always heard that it is the biggest Halloween party in Utah, so we decided to make our way to Logan and go to it together this year. We got to my house and hung out with the family for a little while. got dressed and headed up to USU. It was pretty fun at the beginning showing Chase around and looking at all the different costumes that people were wearing, heck it was even fun to run into some old high school friends if you can believe that, but after an hour we both were lookin pretty bored. They didn’t have a hypnotist this year which meant that it was all dancing… and if anyone has ever been to the Howl, you know what I mean when I say you can barely stand in the room where the dancing is for fear of losing all oxegyn. It gets so hot and sweaty and sticky and smelly and plain old gross. So, being the old fogies that we are, we wandered into the theatre and watched “The Shining” while all of our single peers partied around us. It was actually a pretty good show, but I did feel bad for dragging Chase all the way to Logan for this party which turned out to be pretty lame.
So the point is…next year, Chase & I will probably end up sitting at our house, watching scary movies and handing out treats to the chilluns that come ringing our doorbell.
And what’s even better is that nothing sounds more fun to me than that. I guess I really am turning into a old boring married person. But oh well, at least Chase is right there with me.
(By the way, we dressed up as Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone from Anchorman.)
