Viva Las Vegas (Round 2)
First of all, I want to point out that the sequence of pictures that Chase posted below are backwards. You have to look at them from the bottom up to see it. Anyhoo…
We went to Vegas again! And this time we had way more time to relax and enjoy our vacation away from Provo and Utah in general. Last Thursday night we took off after work and after dropping our cute puppy off at my boss’s house (she volunteered to watch Baxter) and headed to St. George. We got there around 11ish and stayed over at my grandparents condo. Waking up early would’ve killed me if we hadn’t gone straight to the Day Spa. We both got a massage and then facials (which in Chase’s defense, he didn’t like at all). It was sooo awesome. Chase had never gotten a massage in America so when the girls came in and told him to get naked and lay under the sheet, he gave me a weird look and I could tell he was nervous. Haha, I think he did ok though.
After that, we grabbed some lunch and headed back to the condo where we napped, watched TV and showered. Then it was off to Vegas! We checked into the Circus Circus hotel and ended up switching rooms three times because of how crappy the rooms were. The first one had a bed that was basically springs with a sheet over it…sooo uncomfy. And the second one we think that there was already someone staying there because the TV was on and the shampoo and soap were unwrapped. So we complained some more and finally got a great room. After a little shopping at Ceasar’s Palace, we grabbed some din-din at Cheesecake Factory and went back to go to bed.
Saturday we slept in and drove to the Luxor to pick up our Chriss Angel tickets. While we were there, we decided to throw around some money at the Blackjack table, where I got kicked out of the casino. Guess that’s what you get when you’re only 20 huh? So we met back up when Chase was done and walked around to see the hotels and stuff that were around us. We both really like New York, New York (maybe because of the rollercoaster…I don’t know). We actually wandered pretty far from where we started and ended up taking a tram back to the Luxor. We had some really good lobster and halibut at a Steakhouse and then headed into the Chriss Angel show.
I can’t lie, it sucked. Even though we were in Vegas, and Vegas has to put on a huge show, they overdid it with this one. When people pay money to see a Chriss Angel show, they expect to see some freaky tricks or levitation or something. Instead, we got dancing rabbits and lame stage helpers who thought they were really funny. Although Chriss did “levitate” once and did a pretty cool trick with cutting his body in half, it just wasn’t anything awesome and unexplanatory. Next time I see Chriss Angel, I want to see spike go through his body or see him walk on water or just something better than making birds appear out of a hankerchief!!
Ok, now that its off my chest, I will admit that the show aspect of it was good. The lighting and dancing was awesome…it just wasn’t what we were paying to see. After the show, we gambled a little more…and I got kicked out AGAIN! Driving back to our hotel, we had high hopes of exploring Circus Circus and seeing the cool stuff that was around, but we ended up on our bed watching Saturday Night Live. Ha. They did a pretty funny skit about Tina Fey and Pres. Bush and then we fell asleep.
I know that this post is sounding more like a journal entry than an entertaining insight into our lives, but I gotta keep track of what we did somewhere! So Sunday we grabbed some bagels and headed back home. About three hours before we were in Provo, I started really missing my dog. Chase laughed when I called holding Baxter on the way home from my boss’s house because he says that I’m turning into a pretty big dog-lover which I never was before. Everyone makes fun of me for that these days.
But we eventually made it home and were thankful to be able to have such an awesome weekend getaway!
**We didn’t take very many pictures, but if I find any that are worthy of posting I will later**
Sitting at a Cafe in Vegas
For those of you who know lindsey and know how much she loves staring at people you will find this set of pictures as entertaining as I do. She thought I was bored and playing a game on my phone but I captured this! Can anyone guess what she was looking at?
HALLOWEEN 08
Our formal announcement of our costumes….
