I just have to blog about what a fantastic day I had on Tuesday!  I came to work and found out that I in the near future I will be promoted; I booked an awesome Vegas trip for me and the hubby to go see Chriss Angel’s “Believe” and stay a weekend at Circus Circus while we party it up;  my dad told me that he is going to try to get mine and Chase’s Hawaii flight tickets with his sky miles which saves us like $1700; I got all of my homework done with at work and was all caught up by the time I had class; I came home from class to find that my sexy husband had put together a candlelight dinner for us to enjoy while we watched the Heroes premiere; and I got to fall asleep next to the best man in the world.  Seriously, I don’t know how my life could get any better…

n17827144_36068099_2699  WE BOUGHT A PUPPY!  I’ve been trying to get around to blogging about him, but have been pretty pressed for time lately.  We bought him last Friday night…after unsuccessfully thinking of something exciting to do, we pulled into the Animal Ark in Orem and bought this cutie.  He is a mix between a Pekingese & a Poodle, which makes him a “Pek-a-poo”.  We named him Baxter (like off of Anchorman..”Baxter you know I don’t speak spanish!) and he has been so loved since we brought him home.  Luckily for us, he came decently litter-box trained and he DOESN’T shed.  At first, he was pretty yappy but we’ve cured him of that and now he barely whines when we leave him alone in his play area.  There are a few things that are my favorite about him…when I get home from work he gets so excited to see me that he literally attacks my leg with licks and love bites when I open the gate.  Also, bath time is incredibly adorable because he is so scared of the blow dryer that he makes cute little scaredy-cat noises.  AND I have to say that my very favorite thing about having him is that each night I get to cuddle with him to make him tired and then sit by his kennel and pet him to sleep.  It is the best.  Chase and I have begun referring to each other as mom & dad when we talk to Baxter…”Go see Daddy, Baxter; or give Mom a kiss, Baxter”.  It is seriously so fun to be puppy parents.  We absolutely love it!!

I don’t think that I have any pictures for this blog, which I know might turn some people off to it and I apologize for that.  :)   What a weekend though!  Chase and I had SO much fun.  We started the long weekend off right and took some friends to the “Spirit Pit”.  I had a pretty rough cold and wasn’t planning on going, but decided at the last minute that I couldn’t miss something like this.  We met Wilford, Brady, Kellie, Dave and others at the Old Academy and headed down to Santaquin.  That place is such a hole.  But after a few hit and misses at trying to find the exact spot and going back to town to buy a lighter, we made it!  The spirit (bottomless) pit is an old mine shaft that apparently is about 2,000 feet deep and about 30 feet in diameter.  They have some pretty unreliable rebar criss-crossing every so often to prevent bodies from falling in.  We had some jars, gasoline and fire and made a fun night out of throwing the flaming jars down and watching as they spiraled into the dark abyss.  As usual, I was a fraidy-cat and only went out over the bottomless drop for about 2 minutes total while everyone enjoyed the view from the dead-center.  It was pretty freaky, but also pretty fun.

Saturday, we woke up to a beautiful day and I went to a hair appointment.  What is better than getting your hair played with for two hours?  Exactly.  Chase met me for some yummy lunch at Riverside and we headed towards the in-laws.  When we got there, a nice couple that are friends of Dick & Jeanne’s pulled up to drop off a wedding gift to us.  We stayed and chatted for a while and then took off to PetSmart.  We had all of our questions about our future puppy answered and we are now REALLY excited for Friday to come around so we can finally adopt Meeyah (hopefully, keep your fingers crossed).  We spent the rest of the day watching Heroes and playing with the new wedding gift that we received.  It is probably the best smoothie maker that has ever been invented.  Around 5 we went to Pier 49 for some dinner and watched “The Rocker”.  That was a good show.  We both love Dwight, Gob (from Arrested Development) and Chase has a crush on the girl in it too but I don’t know her name (she’s in Superbad and House Bunny).  The cast made for a pretty awesome movie.

Sunday was one of my best friend’s, Lindsey Petersen, farewell.  We drove to Salt Lake to listen to her talk and it ended up being a pretty interesting farewell.  She did great though.  We came back to Provo and ended up taking the world’s longest nap.  We barely woke up in time to get to family dinner.

The best day of it all though was Monday.  We slept in until about ten and woke up to the sound of hail/rain.  Naturally, we put on our swimsuits and went to play in the storm.  It ended up that we decided to just sit in the hot tub.  But it was cool to sit out in the rain.  We came back in and did our “stuff”, which usually consists of Chase sitting at the computer and me wandering around the house cleaning and tinkering with things.  I finished up painting a white frame black and now we can finally finish hanging up all of the frames and pictures around our house.  I am excited.  But then we exersized, showered and took off to run errands.  It turned out that the places we needed to go were all closed for the holiday, so we grabbed some dinner at La Vigna and went to see “House Bunny”.  It was an ok show, but I would recommend just waiting to rent it.  We had a really fun day together and as we walked up the stairs to our house Chase pointed out that during the whole day neither one of us had any contact or interractions with anyone but ourselves and it turned out to be one of the best days ever.  We had a laugh about that, but realized that that is exactly how a marriage should be.
