We Made It!!

After ten hours or so of driving we made it down here to laguna beach for the annual smith family reunion. We went and hung out at emerald bay for the day to catch some rays and then went to catch some crabs. I am not going to lie, they really freak me out because they move like big tarantula spiders! But a long day in the sun, some time at the hot tub, and we are at Lindsey’s favorite local resturaunt – Ruby’s Diner.

We are sitting at the Adams place right now looking out over their neighborhood and the chaos the families combined with too much cotton candy can deliver ( thanks to lindsey and me serving up utahs most common household drug – hard candy in puffed form ).

The DJ and dunking machine seem to be the big hits, along with maddie winning the hula hoop!

Glamorous

Lately we have been doing a lot of fun things!  It seems like there is never two days in a row that we don’t have something planned.  There are trips to Logan (to visit my family) or hanging out with the Brammers and friends, double dates and spur-of-the-moment trips to Vegas!

The other week, Chase decided he was sick of his ‘98 Acura and totalled it (though it wasn’t his fault).  We spent a couple weeks weighing our options and decided that the Honda Accord had everything BOTH of us wanted…for him, Navigation, ivory leather, sunroof, sound system…and for me, lots of guaranteed safety features.   But what sold us when it came to leasing it was that the “great deal” we were getting meant we got to take a trip to Vegas to pick it up!  So we took off work and spent a four-day weekend enjoying the Strip and doing all the fun things we could possibly think off.  We woke up at 4AM to get in line for an iPhone, walked the strip in amazement, tried a BreathOxegyn bar (which I am a huge fan of), viewed the city from the top of the Stratosphere and picked up our new car!  We really do have a glamorous life.

Since we’ve been back, Chase has been cycling a lot.  Recently his friend, Mike Woodward, and him conquered the Alpine Loop which is amazing!  He took me on a drive through it that night and I was so proud that they could cycle up those hills.  But he is good, really good.  Eventually we will get him a nice road bike so that he can keep up on this hobby and build up those leg muscles!

I am in the process of finding a full-time job  (if you know of any, let me know) because with marriage brings a need for medical insurance.   It is not my favorite part of life right now, because I would rather play in the sun all summer long than sit in an office, but hey a girl has to grow up sometime eh?  Right now the only thing keeping me sane is….

OUR UPCOMING WEEKLONG TRIP TO LAGUNA BEACH, CA!  I can’t wait.  And I can’t wait to take Chase.  Even though it is a family reunion for me and he puts on a show like he is dreading it, deep down I know he can’t wait to run the beach at 3AM and catch star fish, spend all day laying in the sun and body surfing, and learn how to surf.  It is going to be a much needed and well deserved vacation from life!  Can’t wait.

**Now for all those who have asked me, our wedding pictures have come back from the photographer and I will upload them as soon as I get them!  But to hold you over, I have put some pictures of our recent escapades up for your enjoyment!**
